KAKC Membership
Kerala Association of Kansas City (KAKC) was registered as a non-profit organization in 2003. KAKC encourages all Malayalees based in Kansas City and its surroundings to be a member. Membership entitles you to a host of benefits along with the feeling of belonging it creates.

Membership fee schedule:
Membership Type 1 year (Jan-Dec) - 2010

Single $10.00
Student $  5.00

How to become a member?
The membership form may be downloaded here. Mail us the filled in form along with your membership dues. See the form for details. Alternately you may use the Pay Membership Fee button above to pay membership online. The form also lets you make contribution towards KAKC activities like newsletter publishing and contests.

The details you provide in the membership form will be used for the member directory. KAKC does not share member information with anyone outside of the member community. The e-mail address you provide will be only used to contact you with KAKC news and event notification.

The most important reason is that KAKC is a link to our community, our homeland and to our culture & traditions. Advantages of KAKC being a registered Association and membership benefits are explained below.

Membership Benefits
(1) Members are eligible for discounted rates for the events organized by KAKC.

  • For KAKC Onam celebration, members will enjoy a discount.
  • Members will enjoy discounted rates for KAKC Christmas Celebration in December

(2) Members receive Backwaters(earlier known as KAKC News and Views) periodically. This is KAKC's newsletter that contains community news and articles contributed by the members and is typically published once a month.

(3) Members get e-mail notifications on KAKC events.

(4) Members get a Member directory/Yearbook every year.

(5) An annual members only picnic in spring of every year.
 

 Advantages of being organized
  • Economical & Convenient Meeting Venues: Being a registered Association, we are now able to get a school auditorium & cafeteria for the Association events, which are much more convenient and less expensive.

  • Well Structured: Activities of the Association and the Committee are conducted as prescribed in the By-laws of the Association. That means, we now have a well-structured organization, which is very important for the success of every event and the growth of the Association.

  • Better Accountability: A Bank account has been opened in the name of the Association and all the transactions are routed through that account. The amounts collected from the members and the amounts spent are well accounted for and the Statement of Accounts is presented to the Committee at every single meeting. It will also be presented to the general members in December before handing over charge to the next Committee.
